​The following graph shows the new applications to the regulated professions, from 2005 to 2019. The graph shows the numbers of applicants from:

• Ontario
• other provinces
• the U.S.
• all other countries (combined)

Note 1: 2009 was the first year that the new College of Early Childhood Educators accepted new membership applications. This accounts for the apparent sharp increase for the Ontario numbers in the graph.

Note 2: The increase in 2014 is attributed to a full year of data collection for 22 compulsory trades under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.
